We welcome you to ‘yet another fashion blog’, where we will bring clothes, accessories more clothes and some more accessories.
Ummm. That’s not very exciting or new.
Then why bother? Because;
- We’re Indian, exoticism runs thick and deep in our blood. Thereby making our ‘style statements’ sunny, bright, happy, and basically tropical. (yes, the sun and sand and the whole shabaang)
- We’re not just Indian. We also are 21st century women. Which means we basically love love love to play dress up and show other women that we can do it better! (or at least try very very hard to usurp the other fabulous women and some men)
- We’re Indian (I’m playing the exotic card again, because it’s doubly true).
Now, to get down to some serious inspired fashion talk.
Here, on inspired airs, we’ll talk about women who emulate eternal style and deconstruct, ‘what they wear’ and ‘how they wear it’. With sometimes current – trendy attires and sometimes vintage – cultural attires. We promise to tie the whole thing together with relevant information like brands, price (the general fashion blog talk) and sometimes irrelevant talk like , ‘oooooooooh we loooove those vintage vespas’. We will try to be sensible most of the times and keep the information relevant, current and humorous (we like the funnies).
Yuvika, that’s my name and IT professional is my game (say what!)
Growing up in Jaipur (India) in the 90‘s no one I knew subscribed to Vogue or Elle. I majored in the sciences with a style constant of t-shirt and jeans (explains the absence of Vogue). I have changed since, both my wardrobe and my style (thank god for adulthood and pimple free days). I’m a girly girl with simple style and a hard to explain passion for clothes. What you can expect from me is sincere and unapologetic posts on popular culture, main stream divas like Miranda Kerr and style cuties like Zooey Deschannel. Though the nerd in me still believes, you can be chicest in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s all up to you.
My sister may be the bigger clothing enthusiast but I do love trends and trend spotting. As you’ll see (hopefully) I’m more of the vintage nut (I like old wrinkly faded things). So expect a whole lot of posts of Diana Vreeland, Audrey Hepburn and a whole lot of Atelier Mayer. I do vow to keep it all current, In the words of Dr. Evil, “there is nothing quite pathetic as an aging hipster”, that I shall be not.
